Karen Mathias, Attorney at Law
Karen’s unique blend of legal and tax expertise is second to none among her peers. With her penchant for paying great attention to detail and her wonderfully patient disposition, Karen is certainly an asset to the Lange team and to those she advises. Karen is actively involved in the estate planning, estate administration and tax practices for the firm and conducts initial meetings and fact-finding sessions with clients. On the legal side, Karen drafts estate planning documents customized specifically for her clients’ needs including wills, trusts and beneficiary designations. She also prepares the documents required to administer estates and transfer assets. For the tax department, she prepares individual and estate income tax returns, gift tax returns, inheritance tax returns and estate tax returns, and advises clients of their tax-planning opportunities. Karen consistently combines her vast experience, her organizational skills, and her gentle personality to make an often complex and confusing process a manageable and pleasant experience for clients.
